TESTING LEVELS JAZZ 2008-2009

All students wishing to “challenge” to the next level must be able to complete the following (with correct technique) according to their level, and with any given Arms. (There is NO demonstration… Students must know all vocabulary!)

Beg. I:
Step touch
Three step turn
Basic Lindie
Ball Changes/step ball change
4 walks 2 step pivots R/L
Step saute passé
Single Inside pirouette

Beg. II:
Step Ball Changes with arms
Lindie with arms
4 Walks 2 St. Pivots
2 St. ball change 2 St. Pivots
Step Saute Passe step ball change
Single outside pirouette
Step bettements

Beg.III:
Lindy prep single pirouette R & L
Stamp turns, R and L
Single pirouette R and L
Basic Stag leap
PDB with NO arms
Step Bettements front and side

Int. I:
working on double pirouette R L
Step Bettement front, side ,back
1 Bettement, single pirouette R&L
Three kick bc, into pirouette R & L
Stamp turns and Chaine turns
Pirouette bc, Pirouette bc (in sequence)
Pas De Bourree with various arms
Pique turns

Int.II:
Side bettement w/jump
PDB and Back PDB turns
2 PDB turn bc turn bc
plie chaine stag jette
basic jette R and L
single outside trn prep inside trn
chaine/pique turn combinations
hitch kicks
parallel and turned out turns

Int. III:
Double pirouette R & L
Slow PDB into double pirouette R & L
Side fan kicks
Bettements jumps
Plie chaine stage jette, and stag attitude
Piques turns and chaine turns (reverse chaines) R & L
Step bettement prep single, step prep double
Able to spot _ turns 1 _ turns etc…

Adv. I:
Left and right split….. kicks must be head height
Bettement prep to double pirouette
1 PDB single pirouette bettement low coupe bettement high st. R & L
2 PDB 1 back PDB turn, st pirouette, chasse jette, chasse jette
Double pirouette R & L working on triples
Chaine jette (any style)
Double outside into single inside single outside chaine
Able to do basic Fouette turns and axel jumps
Any combination of the above steps

Adv. II:
MUST BE ABLE TO DO BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT SPLIT
Single, double, triple pirouette turns, parallel and turned out
Chaine fan kick and chaine axels RL…leg grabs in turns
Know basics of fouette turns able to do various combinations of pique fouette turns

Know basics of rendverse
Reverse stag attitudes, reverse jettes, switch split,
Know basics and different variations of LEAPS and turning LEAPS
