Being a member of Master Class is a privilege. It means you have worked hard and are willing to continue working hard to become a better dancer. To be in Master Class, you must be dedicated. Everyone in class must be willing to work together as a group and be supportive of each other. You will also be role models for the entire studio as well as representatives for A.D.P.A.
MASTER CLASS REQUIREMENTS:
1) ALL MASTER CLASS dancers must be enrolled in their scheduled Master Class(es) as well as at least one ADPA ballet class, and one other ADPA class that has been cleared by the Director.
2) All Master Class dancers are required to compete at one regional competition. All dancers will attend the Regional Competition of ADPA’s choice. (TBA)
3) All MC dancers for 2008-2009 will also have the opportunity to attend a PRIVATE ‘In House’ dance intensive, taught by Pat-y-o and his staff (Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, Tap, and Hip-hop) that will be held at ADPA the third week of JULY 2009. Dates TBA SOON. Commitment to this must be noted no later than September 2008.
4) All dancers must be dressed (hair and proper ADPA dress code) and ready for class on time. Do not be tardy. (Excessive tardiness will be cause or removal from the class.) Master Class dress code requirements are as follows: Hair back in a pony tail or bun, ADPA black leotard, dance shorts, or capris. NO JAZZ PANTS.
5) There will be THREE absences allowed from your Master Classes before regional competition. Dancers with more absences will no longer be able to attend the competition for that class. There will be THREE absences allowed from you BALLET CLASSES- dancers with more absences will no longer be able to attend their Master Classes. No Master Class, No Competition. HOWEVER, you may schedule a Ballet Make-up class with the Director, each Ballet make-up class will remove one Ballet absence.
6) All absences MUST have a written excuse from the parent prior to being absent.
7) No being under the influence of any drug or alcohol during class. This includes prescription drugs…if you are using a prescription drug, or pain killer of any sort you must notify the instructor before class starts. (If under the influence, this will be cause for immediate removal.)
8) Notify the instructor of any injuries or pains that may affect your performance during class.
9) 100% is expected at all classes.
10) Be supportive and show respect to both your classmates as well as instructors. (IN ALL CLASSES)
11) Dancers in these classes do have different dancing abilities. This does NOT mean any of you are better than the other. Please watch your attitude. Everyone in these groups are here because they can contribute something positive. We are a GROUP and need to work together and support each other in and out of the class.
12) All dancers need to listen and pay attention during class. No excessive talking during class. The instructor has the right to excuse any one from the class if they are disruptive.
