2011-2012

Being a member of the Impact Dancers is a privilege.  It also means you have worked hard and are willing to continue working hard to become a better dancer.  To be an Impact Dancer you must be DEDICATED.  Everyone in class must be willing to work together as a group and be supportive of each other.  You will be role models and represent ADPA!

Impact Dancer Requirements:

1)    All Impact Dancers must be enrolled in their scheduled Impact Class(es) as well as at least one ADPA ballet class, and one other ADPA class that has been cleared by the Director.

2)    All Impact Dancers must compete for ADPA alone.  You may participate in other studio classes…however, if you are competing for another school as well as being an Impact Competitor you will jeopardize ADPA’s ability to compete at several competitions.  An Impact Dancer’s Loyalty should solely be with ADPA alone.  If it is brought to the attention of ADPA (and it will) that any Impact Dancer is also competing at another School you will promptly be removed from the Impact Team!

3)    All Impact Dancers are required to compete at IDC Regional competition in Seattle.

4)    All dancers must be dressed (hair and proper Impact Dancer attire) and ready for class on time.  Do not be tardy.  Please have your hair up and attire ON before entering the class!  Please do not wear Jazz pants…you may wear dance shorts, tights or Capri pants.  If you are cold you may wear a long sleeved shirt… no tank tops or short sleeved shirts over your ADPA leotards.  (You may wear your IMPACT clothes!)

5)  There will be three absences allowed from your Impact Classes before the regional competition.  Only 3 Ballet absences will be allowed before regionals as well.  However, you will be able to make up the ballet classes.  Please speak to Miss Tracy and or Miss Elise for arrangements.  Illness, vacations, sports, and or any extra curricular activities will be counted as an absence.  Family emergencies, and graded school events will not be counted as an absence.  NEW!  The office will have excuse forms for you school teacher to fill out and return to Miss Tracy.

6)  All absences MUST have a written excuse from the parent prior to being absent.

7)  No being under the influence of any drug or alcohol during class or ADPA event.  This includes prescription drugs…if you are using a prescription drug, or pain killer of any sort, you must notify the instructor before class starts.  If under the influence, this will be cause for immediate removal.

8)  Notify the instructor of any injuries or pains that may affect your performance during class.

9)  100% is expected at every class.

10)  Be supportive and show RESPECT to both your classmates as well as instructors.  (IN ALL CLASSES)  You will be removed immediately followed by a phone call to your parents if you are disruptive in any way!  There were SEVERAL problems last year during classes.  There will be ZERO tolerance this coming year!

11)  Dancers in these classes do have different dancing abilities.  This does not mean any of you are better than the other.  Please watch your attitude.  Everyone in these groups are here because they can contribute something positive.  We are a GROUP and need to work together and support each other in and out of the class.

12)  All dancers need to listen and pay attention during class.  NO EXCESSIVE TALKING during class.  The instructor has the right to excuse anyone from the class if they are disruptive.  MISS TRACY AND MISS ELISE WILL NOT TOLERATE STUDENTS TALKING WHEN THE INSTRUCTOR IS SPEAKING!  This happened FAR too often this past year.  Show respect to your instructors and they will show you respect!

NEW:  IMPACT DANCERS that are currently enrolled in their 3 required classes may qualify for a scholarship.  If you are in a JAZZ IMPACT class we will scholarship a regular ADPA Jazz class.  (The same applies for Tap)

NEW:  If you are enrolled and paying for 5 ADPA classes, you have reached the PEAK and can add any other class for FREE!
